The Reaching for Excellence initiative will host the fifth event of its Speaker Series on health care best practices on April 2, 2009. “Kicked Out of Kindergarten: Strengthening Emotional and Behavioral Health in Early Childhood” will address gaps in the identification of early behavioral problems in pre-school children, from birth to age six. This event will present national perspectives from two keynote speakers, with audience discussion to follow. To share their viewpoints will be Charles Biss, Children’s Mental Health Director for the Vermont Department of Mental Health, and Paul Dworkin, Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and Physician-in-Chief, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The event will be held at WNED Studios (140 Lower Terrace Street, Buffalo, NY 14202) from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, with a reception to follow.
