Richardson Olmsted Complex Master Plan
Organizing and supporting ongoing community involvement in the Master Plan process
The Richardson Center Corporation (RCC) prepared a Master Plan for the rehabilitation of the Richardson Olmsted Complex in Buffalo, NY. In April 2008, the Master Plan consulting team, headed by Chan Krieger Sieniewicz, was formally introduced to the public. The team was charged with continuing and expanding opportunities for community involvement throughout the year-long master planning process, scheduled to be completed in July 2009.
As part of the Master Plan team, the Urban Design Project was responsible for organizing and supporting ongoing community involvement opportunities. This work included the establishment and facilitation of the Community Advisory Group, and the facilitation of public meetings.
The final Master Plan can be downloaded from the Richardson Center Corporation website http://www.richardson-olmsted.com/
The Urban Design Project, with the support of UB’s Center for Computational Research (CCR), created a 3D model of the complex in existing and proposed conditions. This model places the complex within the context of the entire City of Buffalo and the Olmsted park and parkway system.
