Robert Moses Parkway South Segment
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation asked a consultant team lead by Hatch Mott Macdonald to develop designs for the Robert Moses Parkway South Segment in Niagara Falls New York. The team was tasked with building a scenic parkway system sensitive to and in context with the spectacular wonder of the Upper Rapids and Niagara Falls. This undertaking will created an environment that increased opportunities for recreation and tourism, while it respects the original Olmsted and Vaux park design for access, reflection, education, and the renewal of spirit, that is inspired by the beauty, power and majesty of this natural wonder.
As part of the Master Plan team, the Urban Design Project organized and supported ongoing community involvement opportunities and assessed the socio-economic impacts of the project.
