Teresa Bosch de Celis
Teresa is a senior planning and graphic design professional with extensive expertise in architecture, urban design, sustainability, and environmental planning. Since joining the University at Buffalo Regional Institute (UBRI) in 2011, she has provided strategic design and communication leadership across major regional initiatives—integrating geospatial analysis, data visualization, and urban design to make complex ideas accessible through clear, engaging visual storytelling.
As Senior Planner and Graphic Designer, Teresa leads the visual design, communication, and engagement strategy for key regional projects. Most recent projects include the Regional Revitalization Partnership (RRP), where she oversees the design of annual reports, coordinates stakeholder events and outreach materials, and managed the creation of an online dashboard tracking regional investment outcomes; the One Region Forward initiative, for which she directed the design of the Climate Action Plan and worked in developing the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory with an Online Dashboard; and WNY Manufacturing and Tech Workforce Coalition and Clean Energy Communities, where her work supports equitable and sustainable regional growth.
Teresa also led the full branding, website design, and communications management for Buffalo Street Trees, developing its visual identity and managing its ongoing public outreach and social media presence.
Before relocating to Buffalo in 2010, Teresa worked in Spain as an architect with LaCasaVacía, supporting environmental remediation and redevelopment projects, and at the City Planning Board of Seville, where she contributed to the city’s Comprehensive Plan and the Concerted Action Plan for the North Historical Centre.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Teresa holds an Architecture degree from the Higher Technical School of Architecture at the University of Seville and studied at the University of Genoa, Italy. She earned her Master’s in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo.
Based in North Buffalo and a mother of three, Teresa is passionate about designing sustainable, walkable, and equitable communities—believing that creative collaboration and thoughtful design can inspire lasting positive change for future generations.
