The Richardson Center Corporation (RCC) prepared a Master Plan for the rehabilitation of the Richardson Olmsted Complex in Buffalo, NY. In April 2008, the Master Plan consulting team, headed by Chan Krieger Sieniewicz, was formally introduced to the public. The team was charged with continuing and expanding opportunities for community involvement throughout the year-long master planning process, scheduled to be completed in July 2009.

As part of the Master Plan team, the Urban Design Project was responsible for organizing and supporting ongoing community involvement opportunities. This work included the establishment and facilitation of the Community Advisory Group, and the facilitation of public meetings. Additionally, with support from UB’s Center for Computational Research (CCR), UDP created a 3D model of the complex in existing and proposed conditions. This model places the complex within the context of the entire City of Buffalo and the Olmsted park and parkway system. This project received the 2010 Preservation Award for Planning from Preservation Buffalo Niagara.
