Sustaining Arts and Culture in Buffalo Niagara

A consortium of arts and cultural organizations commissioned the Regional Institute to assess the region’s system of arts and culture support and offer recommendations for reforms to ensure a more sustainable, reliable process. The report, completed in December 2006, reviews the current picture of support for arts and culture in Erie and Niagara Counties, the economic impacts leveraged by the industry, dedicated cultural funding models in 30 other regions, and potential funding alternatives for this region. The report also includes recommendations and action steps for restructuring the region’s approach to arts and culture funding by the public and private sectors.
